CRUISING RALLY

A special division sponsored by 36 Degrees Brokers for yachts who are looking for something different out of the PIC Coastal Classic. We invite all production and cruising boats to join us in a fun rally sailing north from Auckland to Russell with the race fleet. 

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

This is for those that don't want to race but who do want to partake in the atmosphere of this exciting iconic event. The rally starts before the race, so you can relax and take it easy - while enjoying the spectacle of the fastest members of the race fleet sailing past you as you leave the Hauraki Gulf. You'll be able to use your engine if it gets light, and invite friends, colleagues, kids, and have a great weekend on the water and in Russell. 

THE RULES 

  • All boats with Cat 3 will be eligible to enter 

  • PHRF handicap is not required 

  • You will be able to use your engine (conditions apply)

  • Spinnakers are optional

  • Spot prizes will be awarded  (there are no line/handicap prizes)

  • Join in a special prizegiving event in Russell 

MAKING IT EASY 

If this is only sailing event you do, you may not need specific race insurance. Check your policy wording or ask your broker or insurer about whether it's required to take part.

You will need Cat 3, but this is a great way to check your boat is safe and ready to go, and Yachting NZ will help you through it.
