Partnering with B&G to Protect the Bay of Islands

B&G is all about protecting our oceans, and their global initiative to care for marine environments is at the heart of what they do. We're thrilled to have their support in making sure the Bay of Islands' mammal sanctuary, especially the dolphins, stays front and center as we sail into Russell.

We work closely with the Department of Conservation (DOC). Our job is to keep sailors in the loop about their habitat and the rules for any encounters. By sharing this knowledge, we help ensure everyone sails responsibly, playing a part in protecting this amazing sanctuary.

While we have a special permit for the race, we want to make sure we’re following all the rules around mammal encounters. There will be a couple of no go zones and dolphin/whales/seals reporting, but this will not impact on your ability to race.

Check out the rules here
